Welcome to Connally Counseling

Hello, and welcome. We're so glad you're here.

Whether you found us through a search, a referral, or simply a quiet moment of deciding it was time, we want you to know that this is a safe place to land.

At Connally Counseling, we believe that all people deserve to live healthy and satisfying lives. That belief is not a tagline. It's the reason Dr. Dalton Connally opened the doors of this practice in 2013, at a time when there were no queer-focused therapy practices in Ann Arbor, or much of Michigan, for that matter. Clients began finding us almost immediately, many referred by the local hospital, many simply looking for a therapist who understood them. That need has never gone away, and our commitment to meeting it hasn't either.

Today, our team has grown to over 25 clinicians, all of whom are versed in working with LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse populations. Many of our clinicians reflect the communities they serve, in identity, in lived experience, and in genuine care for the work. We offer in-person sessions at our centrally located Ann Arbor office, with free parking, because we believe the therapeutic relationship is built in presence.

Our Mission

To enhance and sustain the health and well-being of all persons, with particular attention to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and kink communities, by providing mental health services and programs that create community, empower community members, provide essential resources, advocate for civil and human rights, and embrace, promote, and support human diversity.

Our Vision

Our goal is to provide a comfortable environment for supporting clients on their journey to wellness and self-discovery. Our intention is to help clients find ways to increase insight, clarity, balance, and meaning, and we are passionate about the intersection between psychotherapy, research, and contemplative mindfulness.

We provide therapy for individuals, couples, polycules, and families.

We work with people navigating identity, relationships, neurodiversity, trauma, depression, and everything in between. We have a sliding scale available through our graduate student clinicians, and we currently have no waitlist.

If you've ever sat across from a therapist who didn't quite get it, who wasn't sure what to do with who you are, we understand. And we want to be something different for you.

We're glad you found us.
