Hi! My name is Peyton and I am a graduate student therapist.
In a world designed to exclude us, I believe people in the queer community can create opportunities to find success, power, and happiness. My approach is based in collaboration, inclusivity, and acceptance.
I work with young adults and adults who want support with queer identity discovery and acceptance, anxiety, depression, perfectionism, people-pleasing, domestic violence, sexual violence, and trauma. Using a variety of modalities, I empower my clients by helping them grow a deeper understanding and appreciation of themselves, enhance their confidence and self-advocacy skills, build upon their strengths, and find practical solutions to improve their quality of life.
I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Wayne State University and I am currently attending the University of Michigan’s Social Work program. Outside of academics, I have worked with youth, families, and individuals across several Michigan communities, through roles that include coaching, mentoring, and early childhood care. Over the past five years I’ve learned important lessons on what it means to be a service provider who engages in cultural humility and trauma-informed care.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing cozy video games and board games with my partner, playing with my cats (Scout and June), and spending time with my family, friends, and Ypsi community. If you think we’d be a good fit, let’s explore the next steps together.
